Mixed MartialArts is the most dynamic combat sport in the world and is the fastest growing sport today. Mixed Martial Artists are highly skilled in boxing, kick boxing, wrestling, judo, karate and jiu-jitsu among other combat disciplines. With jaw-dropping and awe-inspiring displays of sheer will and fortitude, these truly are the world's ultimate extreme athletes.

Knockout Shots is a photography based website which artistically showcases MMA Fighters. It’s also a great resource for their personal websites, their clubs, their leagues and the international MMA community. It's also the only place for fighters and fight fans to view full coverage of events that Knockout Shots covers.

 

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

I'm an artist much like the the martial arts fighters I shoot, only my battles are those between light and shadow. I try to shoot engaging, artfully rendered portraits and reveal the spirit, individuality, personality and uniqueness of each fighter. My goal as a fight photographer is to expose the confidence, fear, and unbridled passion of these MMA athletes moments before going into the ring. When the battle engages I try to capture the intensity and fierce action of combat.


I've grown up involved and influenced with martial arts. I'm a native of Montreal, now living in Toronto. I graduated from Ryerson Polytechnical University in Still Photography Studies in 1995 and established Dextras Photography. I now shoot under the name Knockout Shots. My work has appeared in magazine and newspaper publications as well as online. I have photographed fighters and events from UFC, Hardcore Fighting Championships, IQMMA and Freedom Fight. I am the Official Photographer for the country’s largest Mixed Martial Arts Expo in Toronto, Canada. I currently shoot for Canada's #1 Source for MMA, mmacanada.net.


As Canada's Premier MMA Fight Photographer, I manage a wide spectrum of assignments. From fight clubs, competitions, media events to portraits.
